The Academic Resource Center works directly with the New Student Orientation (NSO) staff, and both staffs are eager to make new students feel comfortable during their first days at Georgetown. With sufficient notification, we can arrange to have the schedule book for the opening weekend enlarged and/or mailed out early if requested. Interpreters can also be made available. We can assist with meals in both the dining halls and other places on campus by providing assistance and orientation to the facilities available. We can also work to accommodate specific dietary needs. Registration can be a hectic and confusing experience for all students; therefore, the Academic Resource Center can make arrangements with the Registrar's Office and your dean's office for early registration. NSO offers many social events both on and off campus during the opening weekend. Many mandatory assemblies are held in Gaston Hall in the Healy Building during the opening weekend. Healy Hall is wheelchair-accessible via the entrance ramp from Dahlgren Quadrangle. An elevator on the first floor of Healy provides access to all floors. |
